Pizza Pie Do or Die with The Flaying

To our neighbors to the north, Canada, The Great White North, the hockey player incubator, let me say I love you from down here in the USA. My time spent within your borders both on business and for pleasure was wonderful.

Now, you hopefully have picked up on the fact that I'm from St. Louis, MO named after King Louis IX. Did you know that even under Spanish rule, St. Louis and the rest of Louisiana spoke French.

We basically told the Spaniards to piss off?

With that in mind, it reminds me that Quebec is awesome. Unlike us, they didn't switch to English. When the whole rest of the Canada switched to the dual languages of Your Home and Native Land, Quebec said PISS OFF, ENGLISH!

With that said, let's check in on this brutal metal band from Quebec City, PQ, The Flaying who were kind enough to speak to us in English.

That's great, because I don't speak French yet, but I will. In the meantime, be a lamb and check out their latest record, Angry Undead would you? If that gets your pulse moving, LIKE THEM PUBLICLY!

LP Review: "Extraction" by Insurrection

Extraction
Let's talk about something silly today.

On Saturday at my daughter's hockey practice, the team was giving out car decals so the parents can show their pride in their daughters for being on a hockey team.

Now, there's also been a sticker for her school in my car that I paid for back in, well, August.

So, there was a sticker deficit going on. There was already a single sticker on my Toyota Prius.

My Prius, has a Death Metal sticker on it. One that said death metal was chosen over a band's sticker, because, I wanted the people to see my duality. Like The Joker said in Full Metal Jacket. Newer readers will probably notice that not much death metal has been hitting around here though.....

Album Review: "Cauchemar" by Inire

It is a testament to the complexity of their sound a band named Inire, which is the Latin word for "peace" would deliver a bellicose album titled Cauchemar, the French word for "nightmare".

Truly the five men of Inire have descended from the Quebec region of the Great White North with the intent of conquering the metal landscape.

Inire has a sound which crosses the boundaries between groove metal, metalcore and nu metal with a distinct traditional heavy metal vibe.  Strong musical similarities can be drawn between Inire and genre giants such as Devil You Know and Killswitch Engage.
