Video Premiere: "The Stitch Upon Death's Heel" by AntiMozdeBeast

AntiMozdeBeast was kind enough to join me on one of the very first Glacially Musical Wednesday Night Lives On Instagram. (8pm EST) 

I'm thrilled to now premiere his newest video.

Having already drawn coverage from Metal Insider, Next Mosh, Pete's Rock Review, Brutally Delicious, the mastermind behind AntiMozdeBeast is Gabriel Palacio of Miami Florida.

He creates all of the music and lyrics, plays all of the instruments and provides vocals for the project.

The Red River will be Gabriel's third release in 2020, and fourth since the start of 2019:The Crossroads EP, The Political Beat, and The Beast of War And the Antichrist in January of 2020.

“The Stitch Upon Death’s Heel was inspired by a “hallucinatory” experience I had a few years ago. I would consider the track to be a confession of occurrence with the supernatural and how the insight into the unseen world had awakened a deep desire and understanding of life.”

Video: "Diamond Back (Guitar Playthrough)" by Lutharo

Unleashing their sophomore EP “Wings of Agony” this past March, Hamilton, ON's Lutharö are sharing with fans their latest guitar playthrough for their track 'Diamond Back'. 

The song itself is about doing whatever it takes to pursue your passion and growing a thicker skin in the process of doing so. Guitarist Victor Bucur explains the shredding of the track in further detail: 

“Diamond Back comes in guns a blazing with its crazy high energy and super-fast chuggy riffs! It then breaks into an extremely catchy harmonized chorus soaring above the madness and just when you think you’ve had a second to breathe, you get punched in the face with one menacing breakdown. 

Following the breakdown is one killer solo section filled with fast sweeps and tapping sections. One thing for sure, this song takes no prisoners!”

Well, who out there remembers Telekinetic Yeti? Well, it appears that the yeti has headed into seclusion, but we have received a Wizard in its place.

Video: "The Poisoner" by White Crone

The Poisoner is the debut album from White Crone, a project by successful blues artist Lisa Mann who performs vocals, guitars and bass.

This album is the result of her dream to make a metal record that brings her music craft back to her teen roots of classic metal and doom. These blues influences, her experience in the music industry combined with the great presentation and contributions of talented guests makes for a high quality sound that can easily compete with major releases.

It’s strongly influenced by Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden but also would be perfect for fans of modern bands like Smoulder. The bass on this one is incredible and plays a prominent role in the music.

S+M goes slow and dense with a groovie riff at chorus moment and then releases a mystical melodic passage to make us fly through the thoughts and inspiration that made this song possible, an Owl, A soul in space, a mysterious form, the eyes in the sky watching us move every second and a beloved  spirit that’s no more around with us, don’t forget to feed the flame!!!!

“When Rocky sent me the demo of this song, before I had even started writing the lyrics and vocals, I just knew this was going to be “the song” used as the first single and music video. 

At the time I was dealing with the pressure of feeling like I had to save the lives of everyone around me and I lost a lot of my happiness and sanity in doing so. A lot of the lyrics where taken directly from what I actually said in text message conversations. 

Every time I sing this song it is such a powerful reminder that I can’t be everything to everyone and that other people need to choose to fix themselves and I can’t make that decision for them.”

Video: "Trauma" by Tommy Concrete

A hardened stalwart of the UK's metal and punk scenes, Edinburgh multi-instrumentalist Tommy Concrete seeks to promote recovery and positive mental attitude through his latest EP, Trauma.  

Released in May 2019, the three-track offering explores mental health, addiction, and altered states through an unconventional blend of heavy subgenres akin to Devin Townsend and Killing Joke.  

Concrete, who has been a member of The Exploited, Man of the Hour, and many more, looks forward to following up Trauma with the full-length Unrelaxed 2 in early 2020.

Video: "Wrapped In Laments" by Malacoda

I'm going to let Malacoda's vocalist Lucas Di Mascio explains the track: 

"Full of melancholic lead melodies over a frantic, almost djent sounding guitar riff, topped off with a dissonant drawn-out scream, the song sounds eerie, angry and sad all at once. It was inspired by the "Lying Figure" monsters from the Silent Hill 2 video game. They are female creatures that are trapped in a straight jacket of their own skin. They have holes in their chest where their hearts should be and they spew acid if the main character gets too close. They are beautifully haunting and evoke pity and disgust. They represent how the main character's wife felt while dying of melanoma, she felt she was a monster- too hideous to love and trapped in her own skin. I always took the acid-spewing from the chest as symbolic to how she was very verbally abusive to the main character in her final days and said things that while hurtful, came from the heart. The chorus brings up the words "lie about" as a common phrase, and it's both referencing how the main character would lie to her about his infidelity, but also how she felt all she could do was physically lie in a bed and waste away."

They gave us ice hockey, skunky lagers, and toques. What they didn't know is that we're Americans and when you lend us something, we take it re-purpose it, call it our own, and then pretend like you didn't have a damned thing to do with it.

Also, the St. Louis Blues beat the Winnipeg Jets...the team most pundits were picking for the Stanley Cup.

While we're all still getting chills about the Stanley Cup here in The Lou, maybe you've heard Gloria one too many times because you're not in St. Louis.

Maybe you need some Proto-Post-Alterna-Grunge from Kingston, Ontario. If that's the case and you like your music a bit on the political side, Jimbo has a track you should hear.

Maybe it's just because every so often we all need a nice dosage of beautiful music when so much ugly is happening right now.

Perhaps I'm in on a weird track, but you can keep yourself sane by accepting that the world is going to burn after we fry like worms on the sidewalk.

In the meantime....check out Heartsick. They're a DIY metal band out of Michigan and you're going to be hard pressed to see a better video, even from the big boys, right about  now.
