Pandemic Dispatches with Junkowl

Montreal seems to be the city where I'm getting the most pandemic dispatches.

Check out Junkowl on BANDCAMP and find out how they're coping below.

1. How are things going where you are? The laws and such.

I think things are starting to relax a bit here in Montreal, businesses are slowly starting to re-open and we’re now allowed small gatherings of people.

Still no date set for the re-opening of bars or venues though.

2. How long have you been sheltering in place at this time?

I started self-isolating at the end of March, and just starting seeing some close friends, while still being careful.

3. What has been cancelled on you that you were looking forward to?

We had a little Ontario/Quebec run set up with Black Absinthe that we were really stoked about, hopefully, we’ll be able to re-plan it once this blows over.

4. How have you been passing the time indoors?

I’ve been listening to a lot of music and working on lyrics and melodies for our next album.

5. Loads of artists have been talking about how they're being creative. When the lockdown is over are ya gonna be ready to hit up the studio?

Our plan is to start jamming and get all of our ideas together.

We have a bunch of songs we were working on before the virus hit and we’ve also been working on some brand new tunes on our own so we definitely have some work to do before we hit the studio again.

6. What crazy projects have you been considering since you've been in quarantine?

We actually decided we want to cover a song, something we never really thought we’d do as a band. We already picked the song but we’ll keep it secret for now, as we might include it on our next album.

We’re also working on an acoustic version of one of our songs, which again was not something we ever contemplated doing before.
