Hometown Tales with Terrance Jenkins of Draemora

Let's find out some more stuff shall we? Draemora is a band that is from a town.

That town is sort of famous.

It might be the most recognizable town in the entire state of Washington that's not named Walla Walla!

So check out their tunes and find out how they Seattle.

1. St. Louis City is my hometown. I’ve lived here for most of my life in and around the city.

Where are you from?

Seattle, Washington

2. We have three things that don’t really exist anywhere else: the slinger, the gooey butter cake, and toasted ravioli. Tell me about your hometown's delicacy.

The greater Seattle area is known for drinking an S-load of coffee, and it's 100 percent true, we are the home of Starbucks and I’m cool with that.

Everything around here is based around our access to the ocean so, Pike Place Market has some really famous fish places, you can get excellent seafood here just about anywhere you go.

3. In St. Louis, though there have been others. Our biggest hometown team is the St. Louis Cardinals (formerly the St. Louis Perfectos, nee: the St. Louis Browns, not the AL team that moved to Baltimore.)

There is nowhere you can go to escape it. I'm a hockey fan, not a baseball fan, so it's a bit weird to me. Tell me about your hometown's big Team.

The Seahawks are undoubtedly our biggest sports team, and they’re not only big here, there are a lot of folks around the world that love our team, which I think is pretty cool, GO HAWKS!!!

4. St. Louis isn't really known for any one type of music scene. The biggest acts I can think of to get out of here alive were Gravity Kills, Nelly and the St. Lunatics, and Sheryl Crow. There's always been a vibrant concert scene though.

What about where you are?

Well, to say the least, Seattle is chock full of music since I can remember, a few notable acts might include,  Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Melvins, TAD, Green River, Candlebox, Death Cab For Cutie, Heart, Pretty Girls Make Graves, 7 Year Bitch, Nevermore, Sunn 0))) and more.

5. 20 years ago, St. Louis had about 300 murders each year, floods, and all sorts of other fun things. You might have heard about us being named the Murder Capital of the USA. Nowadays, a lot here is 150. But there are lots of parts of the city that are returning to former glory.

On the whole, St. Louis is a better place to live today than before. Is there anything like that where you're from?

Well, it kind of pisses down a light, to moderate drizzle of rain here all year long and the sun hides for 8 months of the year, so more of the deaths seem to come from alcohol abuse and suicide, haha.

I think with the uprising of homelessness lately it's become drastically less safe, but it never really was, to begin with.

I wouldn’t be out past 12 am on any night ever. Haha.

6. Are you still there?

Yup, I live in a city right outside of Seattle called Everett (arguably less safe), I still go there a lot though, it's our hub for music and culture.
