Pandemic Dispatches with Evertrapped

Welp...It was cool talking about Montreal earlier, we're doing it again with Evertrapped. Stream their latest Melo-Death offering on BANDCAMP.

Or kick them a Looney and buy it.

1. How are things going where you are? The laws and such.

Things here are starting to open up a bit. I think a lot of people are just getting together and no one's really bothering anyone else about it too much these days.

The laws are not surprising but to a certain extent when I hear things like other people calling the cops on folks they see hanging out in a park or whatever is a bit much.

And then some of these people getting ridiculous tickets just for hanging out at their own risk. So in that regard, it can be a bit much but it doesn't seem that bad now.

2. How long have you been sheltering in place at this time?

People are getting back to work now so if I gotta go out, I go out. We all spent several weeks at home in March/April not doing much so it's getting nice out now so we gotta get out even if it's just biking around, hanging out outside and stuff. I mean you wash your hands, you watch what you're doing, it's not that complicated to be able to go out and still try to stay safe.

3. What has been cancelled on you that you were looking forward to?

Luckily we didn't have to cancel anything. We were just about to plan our tour for our latest album The Last Extinction but we were able to put a stop to it before we booked anything.

So we still released the album May 22nd and we're making sure to keep a presence going online, but we're definitely looking forward to getting back out there.

4. How have you been passing the time indoors?

We've been trying to keep an online presence as much as possible. Putting out as much media as possible, our album release, video blogs, etc...

Anything we can do to keep people interested and get folks to listen to the album and hopefully enjoy it.

5. Loads of artists have been talking about how they're being creative. When the lockdown is over are ya gonna be ready to hit up the studio?

Aside from the jam studio, our priority will be playing shows as soon as we can. Like many bands I'm sure, we're dying to get back to playing gigs.

We'll be a bit rusty going back into the jam space but we'll get it to it and we'll be ready to kick ass on stage as soon as we're able.

6. What crazy projects have you been considering since you've been in quarantine?

We were considering a live stream and it could still happen. We also wanted to shoot another video, but either way, it's been difficult getting things together since we haven't seen each other in a while.

We'll figure some stuff out for sure. Just stay tuned and we hope to see our fans as soon as possible!
