DLP Review: "High The Memory" by Abyssic

High The Memory
Black Metal Sub-subgenres are really starting to work out well to my ears.

Take for example, Abyssic, who's on Osmose Productions.

I will not be discussing all of the stops the band members have made over the years before joining this particular band.

Word on the street is that they're an atmospheric doom/death funeral band with black and prog influences....

There's a lot of words there, but to me, they're more of an offshoot of black metal than anything else. The keys, the strings, and pure epic feeling of these songs is what leads me to that conclusion.

They're clearly a Fifth Wave Black Metal band right? Well, who cares whether or not that's a thing? Abyssic's double is full with simply five tracks. There are two tracks over twenty minutes long each.

Depressed and angry and feeling like you need to hit the symphony while wearing your corpse paint? Well, have we got a band for you. They're likely the only black metal band to employ someone playing the Double Bass.
