LP Review: "Triumphant Master of Fates" by Vimur

Triumphant Master of Fates

The Vimur River is the largest of the Elivagar Rivers that were formed at the beginning of the world.

At least, that's what Norse Mythology tells us.

One would assume that this band would be more than than just some standard black metal band right?

They'd be powerful and unrelenting. Their music would be able to stand up to not just the slings and arrows of the enemies of trve kvlt vlvck metal, but the stone of time as well.

Right?

That's actually a pretty good description of what Vimur has accomplished. Being an American Black Metal band featuring the traditions of Ancient Norsemen, they straddle two worlds and the songs reflect that.

Most of the time Triumphant Master of Fates features the slightly left of center American black metal, but sometimes moves into the more traditional fares of Scandinavian bands.
