LP Review: "Opera Villains" by Glitter Wizard

Opera Villains
The world moves in strange ways. No let's say it's the multiverse.

Five days ago, on Twitter, I asked the question, is there room in this wide world for Stoner Glam Metal?

Well, Glitter Wizard is making a strong case to answer that question.

Just the name alone, Glitter Wizard, I mean, yeah, right there. That's Glam and Stoner all at the same time.

The songs don't have quite the same line of demarcation between the glammy and the hempy though.

Though it's not a clear half and half, there's definitely strong elements of both styles of music. Think of it more like the ratio of cream in coffee rather than cream and milk in half and half. You get where I'm going with this right?

Musically and lyrically verbose, Opera Villains contains enough melody to get Poison fans at least willing to listen, but they don't stop there. Strong strains of Electric Wizard and High On Fire will get the real metalheads on board too.

In fact, it's difficult to tell which side Glitter Wizard is really courting.

LP Review: "Mountain Legacy" by Deadsmoke

Mountain Legacy
There is a certain kind of person in the world, which I'm not, that's slow to anger. As a people, we should be prizing and teaching this quality.

This guy, me, isn't. Emotions are worn on my sleeve. There are times when my nerves are raw and then my moods can change on a dime.

This isn't good.

Again, my personal training has restarted to return myself back to when holding it was within my powers.

Those days though, there would come a time when taking it with a smile couldn't be done anymore and the explosion would start.  Think about that. Those were actually darker days, my friends. Here in the now, in the bright days, abilities have been lost.

LP Review: "Ouija" by Dead Witches

Ouija
Many years ago on my first trip to Chicago, I took the train. At this point, I hadn't ever flown in a plane, so my first trip that wasn't in a car was on a train.

Had it not been five hours late, that would've been pretty awesome.

Because of the lateness...My friend and I went in search of beer. Well, as this particular Chicago Suburb apparently had laws in place and we couldn't find any beer anywhere.

In the end, we went on a long drive to secure some cold beer. The ironic part was that by the time we found beer, the warm beer I'd brought on the train, would have been cold.

But, this trip through Northern Illinois was interesting, and terrifying. We drove State Roads in the fog. It was every bit of something out of An American Werewolf In London. Had the gas gauge not been pushing empty, this would have been an enjoyable experience.
