MLP Review: "Visitation" by HAR

Visitation
Why is it that the opposite of what we require can give us such fulfillment?

Beer, it's a depressant, but it can make us feel so happy. Like Carl said man, there's nothing like a depressant to chase the blues away.

This is so true when it comes to music.

When we're angry, giant bursts of anger, be it via video game violence, extreme metal, etc allow our anger to abate and bring us back to sensible modes.

When we're feeling sad, we listen to the Blues, but like the Jazzman said, the blues ain't about feeling better, it's about making other people feel bad. As with anyone who's alive and kicking, there are negative emotions circling inside of me.

LP Review: "Primordial Malignity" by Tomb Mold

Primordial Malignity
In the United States false adrenaline is big business.

There is a chain of Six Flags theme parks and hundreds of other theme parks around the United States.

Horror movies are everywhere, and we won't get into the pervasive creepiness of the American Horror Film genre....you know what I'm talking about.

Over the decades here, there's been a profound shift in the belief of the American Dream. We no longer  have the ability to raise a family on a factory job. We no longer have the time with our children we once did.

What does this do? It wears us down. So, we need to feel something. When we're feeling good though, there always seems to be something waiting around the corner or sneaking up on us from behind....

Album Review: "Triumvir Foul LP" by Triumvir Foul

Triumvir Foul LP
Metal is one of those things that never ceases bubbling up from the slime and the muck.

It's been over 45 years since Master Tony Iommi first played the Devil's Tritone on Black Sabbath.

It continues to grow, and in some cases just fester. Metal is the blues of the blues of the blues, if it were all based on anger.

It's the scab that won't go away which is part of what makes it pretty damned cool, but Rob Zombie was quite wrong about metal being an unchanging dinosaur. It's never stopped changing.

Today we have in our claws, the debut album from Triumvir Foul that's appropriately titled the Triumvir Foul LP. It has a split release date. The CD and digital release happens on 12/11 and the vinyl release is on 2/16.
