Classic Spins with Sir Oz of CRS/Cirrosis

CRS
Mexican Death Metallers, CRS, have just popped out their latest album via Concreto Records.

Previously known as Cirrosis, they're back with their sophomore release and only twenty years after the debut.

Go stream that stuff on SPOTIFY.

For now, let's talk about Sir Oz's listening habits.

My favorite kind of album is the concept album. The Wall is my absolute favorite. Beyond the amazing songs, it has spectacular nostalgia for me.

What's your favorite one and why?

The Crimson Idol from W.A.S.P. The story of a black sheep, a metalhead seen in the family as a bad guy or a loser.

The story of many people, not a fiction, is a deep and real story. Musically a master piece.

My very first album was Live Evil by Black Sabbath. Since then I've had a strong affinity for the live record, even if they're a bit fake. KISS set the bar with Alive!.

Surely, it was fake, but it's got the best concert feel of any one. Tell me about your favorite live record?

A lot of music has something fake, especially on these days, it is no longer a big issue for me. Thus, my favorite live FAKE album is Live Undead by Slayer hahaha

There are a great number of records I've turned to for my moods. What do you listen to when you're angry? Sad? Angry.

Any of the 4 first album of Morbid Angel.

Sad: The White Buffalo, Steven Wilson or Nick Dracke.

 Happy: Chalino Sanchez.

One of my friends laughs at me, routinely, for loving the Misfit Toys of albums by major bands. Lulu by Metallica and Lou Reed, Carnival of Souls by Kiss, Diabolous En Musica by Slayer, etc.

What's the strange one that you love?

My musical taste is wide. Many metalheads do not understand that I listen albums away from metal. I like punk rock bands from Spain like "La Polla Records" or some singer-songwriters like "Joaquin Sabina."

I love Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and bullies say that they are poets and not singers, hahaha.

It's almost fashionable to release live versions of albums or re-record the old ones. King Diamond is releasing a concert with Abigail front to back. Roger Waters has done The Wall twice.

Which ones do you have in your collection?

Both of them. I’m a record collector and I have thousands of albums. I’m proud of my music collection.
