Are You Ready To Rock with Tales Of The Tomb

Everybody knows that Edmonton, AB is City of Champions right?

What happens when someone there gets to be a bit more than one of the Edmonton Eskimos?

At that point, are they just lending their Under Armour to the Oilers in a vainglorious attempt at defeating the Bleu, blanc et rouge in the first Heritage Classic?

While you're pondering that day in NHL history, check out Tales From the Tomb's latest release on BANDCAMP.

1. Every major band worth its salt has released a live album. Tell me about your favorite A list band's live record and your favorite underground live album.

We personally don’t have a favorite A list bands live album per se. However in the genre, Cannibal Corpse is definitely the most popular or recognizable, and they have a great live album called Live Cannibalism.

A close second would definitely be None So Live by Cryptopsy!

2. Kiss, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, etc, all have released several live sets. Tell me about a band who's gotten you to purchase multiple live sets and why?

Between the Buried and Me: Colours would definitely be it. Mostly because the first copy was given to us, but then we ended up buying another copy because it was really good!

So that would be the winner!

3. Now, it's time to take a stand. Would you rather have an album like Kiss's Alive! where the tracks were doctored into perfection or would you rather have a Jimi Hendrix Live At Berkeley set where they just mixed and mastered the tapes?

For a regular commercial record, I don’t see why not to only use the best takes and try to create a perfect sounding record.

But in a live album context, its probably best to just have the performance unedited and as it was heard live.

4. In the early 90's, Anthrax released a live album called Live: The Island Years. Due to reasons beyond Anthrax's control, this one just never felt right to me and I soon unloaded it. Tell me about one that disappointed you when it came out?

Fortunately, we have not stumbled a live record that were looking forward to that we were disappointed by!

Most live albums we listened to are really good!

5. What's the right length for a live album?

The right length of the album would be the entire performance or how long the artist sees fit!
