Feral |
Well, in case you're not feeling hungry enough...
Let's check in with the good chaps from Nomad and see what they like to eat. In case you need an introduction..
They're a group of two bearded gentleman, one bald fellow, and a non-bearded lady .
Right now, their latest album Feral is out now. You can get that here on digital, CD, or vinyl.
1. For me, lunch is usually the meal where I don't have to deal with the Napoleon of Food.
So it's my favorite meal. What's your best meal of the day?
John Carberry (Bass): For me, lunch is usually the meal where I don't have to deal with the Napoleon of Food. So it's my favorite meal. Best meal of the day? Lunch, because it means break time at work.
Hayley McIntyre (drums): Lunch for sure, I love filling my fat face with as many pies as possible.
Drian Nash (vocals): I like not eating much during the day and then full on binging in the evening.
Lewis Atkinson (guitar) : All of them, because I'm greedy.
2. What's your most important meal of the day?
John: All of them
Hayley: Breakfast. I would literally pass out if I left the house without having it.
Drian: I’m bad at routine so just food whenever.
Lewis: Probably the evening meal. I like a good feast after work.
3. In St. Louis have a local delicacy called the slinger. What's your hometown's delicacy? We prefer this to be an expose...tell us what only the locals know.
John: Drian has already said Zads, I'm gonna have to go with Little Aladdin's - 3 curries on rice for £5. Amazing!
Hayley: Pie butty... full pie on buttered bread with brown sauce. Boom.
Drian: Zad’s BBQ Seitan pizza with loaded fries and green is probably the best Friday night take away binge
Lewis: No local delicacies really but Spicy Valley do an awesome bbq chicken pizza.
4. Breakfast. When I'm not taking down a slinger, it's all about bacon and breakfast potatoes/hash browns in my house. What about you?
John: Sausage, mushroom, and cheese, on wholemeal bread with brown sauce
Hayley: Morrisons breakfast is the one... don't bother cooking your own. Their toast is out of this world.
Drian: Lots of Mushrooms, onion, avocado, bagel n beans.
Lewis: The go to brekkie at the moment is Cumberland sausage and black pudding in a cheese topped roll. Twice. Filthy.
5. I like my coffee cold and my tea with milk in it. What's your preferred caffeine delivery device?
John: Coffee - black, or Cherry Coke
Hayley:I rarely drink anything with caffeine in, it makes me crazier than I already am.
Drian: I’m trying to fuck off coffee, but I love any coffee with shit laods of caramel badness in it.
Lewis: Coffee, milk, one sugar. Nothing fancy, I like coffee to taste like coffee.
6. I've largely stopped drinking soda, because I could use those calories for beer. Where are you at here?
John: Yeah, I'm pretty shit with soda. I must drink a can of Cherry Coke a day.
Hayley Hardly touch them. I drink water all day long but you can't beat a good cold can of Rio on the weekends.
Drian: Coke Zero innit, I used to be addicted to Fanta fruit twist as a teenager I drank 2 litres a day.
Lewis: I usually only drink soft drinks when I have a hangover so it has to be either a full fat coke or cherry coke.
7. Best beer/spirit/whatever?
John: It depends really
Hayley: Cider. No contest.
Drian: Shit cheap lager
Lewis: Lager, not really too fussy which lager but I'm a snob when it comes to whiskey - it's got to be the good stuff.
8. I'm a Philistine when it comes to pairings. I just drink what I want with my food. What about you?
John: Again, it all depends. Beer with pizza, or a burger, wine with a meal out, coffee with humus and pitta
Hayley: I don't enjoy drinking alcohol with food, I save it for the binge cider sesh afterwards.
Drian: I’m also uncultured and don’t really care about food n drink pairings.
Lewis: it depends on the meal or the occasion.
